The approval process

Once a contract is in place we send your project to our engineer and submit all necessary plans & documentation our Certifier or your council with a view to acquiring Approval and a Construction Certificate. This normally takes 2 to 4 days* depending on your council. We require your Lot and RP numbers (see your rates notice) and we do the rest. If you have it, a copy of the house site plan may be helpful, but is not essential.

Every new pool in Valencia must be approved for construction by a Licensed Certifier.

Some pools require a Development Application (DA) approval from council, while some can be processed quicker as complying developments.

Included in the cost of your pool, CBS prepares all of your engineering and documentation for approval. You may also require a Survey, Site Analysis Plan, Landscape Plan, Stormwater Management Plan and the Statement of Environmental Effects.

Your pool will be engineered by a qualified pool engineer (and member of the Institute of Engineers of your hometown) at no extra cost so your pool meets (a) our high standards for construction as well as (b) compliance inspections during construction.

Its all part of our service so you won’t have to deal with your council. Well keep you up to date on progress but many councils do allow you to track progress of an application online.

* We know how to prepare your documentation with the detail required to have your pool approved as soon as feasibly possible so you will be swimming sooner.

Pool construction process

Once we have acquired a Construction Certificate and water board approvals to proceed, one of our experienced construction supervisors will arrange a visit to mark out the location of you pool. From there excavation can commence.

Your construction supervisor and management team are guided by decades of experience and a methodology that ensures the construction process runs effortlessly and without delay. Our tradespeople have been in the ‘CBS family’ for many years, if not decades, and follow our Pools’ protocols whilst working at your property. Everyone remains accountable and management will be responsive in answering any concerns you have.

In & out of the water

Steps often provide most of the thinking in the design of a swimming pool. Broad masonry stairs are beautiful and practical long as they are applied in the correct place . This choice is, just like the shape of the pool, very personal.

Depth of pool

If you want to dive , your pool (partially ) deeper than if you just want to swim. We advise on construction generally a depth of 160 cm . To swim , finally, using only the top 50 to 60 cm of water. One meter sixty is a safe and useful depth. Safe because you can be yourself and so your children and / or grandchildren can help during their first thrashing . Shape and size of the pool

To determine what shape your pool should be , you wonder whether you really want to attract jobs or just want to cool off and increasing. A lap pool is preferably elongated and rectangular.
